One of the first things we did when we arrived in Munich was buy an annual family pass to the Munich Zoo. We live just a short walk away and it has been really fun being able to pop in and see the animals whenever we want! Another reason we love walking to the zoo is because we cross the Isar Bridge over the pretty Isar river. The bridge is filled with multicolored padlocks that people who are in love, lock on to the fence to show their devotion. They throw the key into the river as a sign of their everlasting love. Mommy says the idea originated from an Italian novel and inspired people in cities all over Europe. Spring is finally here and not only is the sun out but the baby animals are too! My favorite thing to do is play with the baby goats!! Now that I think about it...they are the only animals that people pet at the zoo. I never see anyone with the tigers, elephants or lions! I really love being able to see the beautiful animals but I feel sad they don't get to live in their real homes with their families. I think the tigers need more space to explore. My cat at home is always off exploring and he is just a tiny tiger. Mommy said sometimes the zoo makes a home for an animal who wouldn't be able to live on his own anymore. I asked Mommy where our home was and she started laughing. She said we are travelers right now and we carry our home in our hearts and in our suitcases. I thought that was so funny!! I told her, she was so silly because only my dollhouse could fit into my suitcase!! After we both laughed for a long time, she told me I was a very lucky little girl. Mommy said I have family back in the states who love and miss me and I have been able to make friends all over the world. It made me think about all the cool places I've been able to experience. Mommy says whether we choose to write about it or not, we are all authors and have our very own books about life being written every day. I wondered what my book would look like!!  On our walk home from the zoo we talked about all the things that are in my book. I want to have pictures of the beach, ocean, fishing and my Grandpa's boat in Key West. I want to write about the beautiful aquarium I visit when I see Daddy's parents in Atlanta. We talked about the really fun soccer game we went to in Barcelona and how we enjoyed exploring the small Barcelona streets at sunset. I want to show pictures of our trip to Paris where we saw beautiful art, the Eifell Tower and ate macarons. We remembered all our road trips in Italy and how we spent Thanksgiving in Milan eating fresh pasta. I have a long chapter on my Christmases spent in Germany with magical Christmas markets and fond memories. I want to show pictures of the streets in Copenhagen with everyone riding their bikes. I thought about the time we drove to Austria to see where Mommy and Daddy use to live and how we shared an Austrian dessert they use to eat. I definitely want to add pictures of the mountains we just saw in Switzerland and the beautiful lake in Zurich. I want to write about the Pacific Ocean, hiking and making campfires in Canada this summer. We remembered our shopping in South Beach and the yummy Cuban food we ate in Miami. We talked about the beautiful canals in Amsterdam and how pretty the tulips are in the Netherlands. I guess Mommy is right...I do live an extraordinary life that has written beautiful and unique chapters. But my book would be nothing without its main characters. I love all the people in my life and how they help me write the best, most beautiful, and loving book ever! I hope everyone has a day worth writing about today!

The weather is finally starting to get warmer in Germany and it seems like all Mommy wants to do is be in the sunshine! I'm not complaining...I need a reason to wear my cool shades! We hopped on the U-Bahn and rode into the center to visit a market. We found a juicing bar with really delicious juices. We told the lady what ingredients we wanted and she walked over to her fruit and vegetable stand and grabbed our fruits and then started to juice it right in front of us! DELICIOUS! Then Mommy said she had a surprise for me and wanted to show me something really special. We walked around until we found this really old building. I found out it was the oldest church in Munich and people called it St. Peter's or Alte Peter by the locals. Mommy said if we walked all the way to the top that we would be able to see all of the city! She said that explorers are rewarded with beautiful views for their travels. I walked every single step by myself...all 306 of them to be exact! I am a big girl you know? I had to remind my Mom of this every time she offered to hold my hand or carry me. She can be so embarrassing sometimes! The stairways were really really skinny and it was very hard when people were going up and others were going down! Then Mommy would embarrass me some more and say "less talking, more walking!" I heard all sorts of languages while we were making our way up. I thought how cool it was that all of us strangers from around the world were sharing this journey to the top and would look over at Munich together. Mommy says that life is often like a game of connect-the-dots. I thought about how all these people were sharing this dot together and I wondered where all of their next dots would be? Would we ever meet at another dot? We probably would in one of the 5 Starbucks in town. (Ok, yes I admit it, I also have a blueberry muffin addiction along with chocolate) When we finally made it to the top I couldn't believe how high we were!! I felt like a little birdie perched on the highest branch of the biggest tree! No one was taller than me that day! I was the world's tallest toddler in my mind. Most of the grown-ups seemed fascinated by seeing the Alps but I was more intrigued by the size of the humans down below! The only bad thing about climbing up 306 steps is that you have to climb down 306 steps. Everyone started laughing when I said that my shoes were tired and needed a nap! I could have made it the whole way down but I knew it would make my Mom feel important if I let her give me a piggy back ride for the end...I'm kind of considerate like that. To end our adventure we went inside the church to explore. It was like exercise for your eyes! I wanted to look everywhere! It was very quiet and although I intended to spice it up, Mommy insisted that I whisper. I asked her what the people were doing and she said they were talking with their hearts. I looked around and tried this "hands closed, heart talking" too. It was a fantastic day filled with tasty juice, new knowledge, peaceful space, and a lot of exercise! I hope everyone had as UPlifting of a day as me! xoxo- Cami

The Playful Philospher

{to the top we go}

{cool lights}

                                            Gap skinny jeans, Bellerose tank, Target hair clip

                                          Air Jordan 1Phat GS Wolf Grey Ultraviolet and New Green

A few days ago I told Mommy that she was the moon and that Daddy was the sun and that we could all be the stars. She looked at me with big eyes and exclaimed, "you're such a beautiful little philosopher!" I might be a smart 2 year old but I did not know who this Phil guy was that she called me. She said that philosophers investigate truths in life and use beautiful words to explain their thinking. To be honest, I was totally tuning her out for the introduction song to Sponge Bob Squarepants...until, I heard her quote this man whose name sounded like Play-Doh! He once said that "you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation." Now that is a smart cookie! I think I like this philosophy stuff. Maybe I can be the Dora the Explorer in the land of words and cool ways to think. Mommy decided to take me to this really fun indoor playground after we dropped my Dad off at basketball practice and I started thinking about what Play-Doh said. I saw that people play differently and some not at all! Some kids are happy and helpful while others are bossy and rough, but we all were involved. We all played. The grown-ups were a different story. Some were having as much fun as us and laughing like kids but most of them sat in chairs drinking their yucky coffee drinks. The playground is huge and filled with everything a kid could dream of...giant trampolines, a mini roller coaster, ball pits the size of olympic pools, slides, bouncy houses, huge obstacles courses, bumper cars and all the junk food that Mommy always says no to! Who wouldn't have fun in a place like that?! I wondered...if they just took off their shoes and jumped in a ball pit; would they be happier? I think how someone plays does say a lot about them and even more if they've forgotten how. I'm happy that my Mommy and Daddy are some of the few grown-ups that get tangled in the obstacle course with me and know how to throw a mean curve ball in the ball pit.  I'll leave you with a little quote of my own...life is like a roller coaster; it's fast and filled with ups and downs, sometimes even turns you totally upside down, but the ride is over before you know it, so being a part of it is what matters. I hope everyone had as bright a day as me! xoxo- Cami
